Upon fearful trees lays a smoky veil
Obscuring and confusing a perfect view
Through the house of Gaia, there is no trail.
Yet around the unseen shine stunning hues.
What lies within those covered trees
That seem to hold such mystery?
What magic holds the veil upon the reeds
Lining the still lake and gentle streams?
How can one majestic scene
Be both serene and fearful
As if it were a vivid dream
Both nightmare and hopeful?
(Artwork by me, quick oil sketch from imagination)
very beautiful…I think that is what life is: dichotomy…we need both to stay in balance.

I completely agree, thank you.
I can’t decide if I like the writing or the artwork best. Incredible.

Thank you! The art work was done a few months ago as one of my first attempts at using oil paints. For one of my first attempts i was fairly pleased with it.
I like the oil paints, but I haven’t done too much with them. I keep getting sidetracked. But that picture sucked me in. There was such depth, in both senses of the word.
BEAUTIFUL! Love the painting and love the poetry!

Your paintings are really cool. I really love your style. 🙂

Gosh, I haven’t had anyone comment on the art section of my blog for a while…(but that could be as I haven’t really posted much on it for a good while). I’m still really exploring my style to be honest. In case you missed them, I also have a large acrylic piece based on Edgar Allen Poe’s ‘The Raven’, http://thoughtofvg.wordpress.com/2012/03/12/the-raven/ and another oil landscape with a stag as the theme of the piece, http://thoughtofvg.wordpress.com/2012/05/31/highland-prince-oil-on-canvas/ if you we’re interested in other art piece.
Yep, I saw them. The one I commented on was my favorite. I’m a sucker for a blog with good art on it. You are really talented. 🙂
